Olympic Gold Medalist

Dear Friends,

It is my dream to become a member of the US mens gymnastics team and compete in the 2012 Olympic Games. Born in Havana, Cuba, I defected to the United states in 2003 during the World Championships feeling it was the best chance I had at making a better life for me and my family. A few of my accomplishments include a gold medal at the World Cup, a bronze medal at the World Championships and having been the 3 time Pan Am Team Champion . Along the way, I have faced multiple hurdles and difficult challenges. I have trained in gymnastics for 26 years and now face my most important challenge, making the 2012 Olympic team. Despite the obstacles I may face, I know with your support my Olympic dream can be kept alive. I would like nothing more than to give back to a  country that has already given me so much.
