[Charlie] has dedicated his life to this sport and to working with and helping young people....We both know the value of the Olympic experience. We also know the difficulty in training, preparing and achieving success at the very highest level of sport.... Charlie Tamayo deserves our support and special consideration. He needs to at least be given this opportunity to try. The chance of opportunity is why Charlie moved to the United States.
